Our Community Care Nurse Qualification Criteria:
Education: A Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is required, providing you with the foundational skills to support our healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care.
Certifications: A current First Aid and CPR certification is imperative, equipping you to offer vital assistance in emergency situations.
Experience and training: While it's not a strict requirement, we see great value in any additional experience or training you may have in the aged care realm, including specialised courses in medication administration, dementia care, or palliative care.
Communication skills: We look for PCAs who have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of providing both empathy and support while effectively interacting with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
Physical fitness: Given the physical demands of the PCA role, such as assisting with patient transfers and mobility, a good level of physical fitness is essential.
Key Responsibilities at Place of Work
- Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Mobility Assistance: Support residents with mobility, including transfers from bed to wheelchair, walking, and positioning, using safe manual handling techniques.
- Nutritional Support: Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration. ● Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive and caring environment.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and order in residents’ living areas, including making beds, tidying rooms, and managing laundry.
